New Course Launches for those affected by Bereavement

In the next couple of months here at The Parish trust, we are running courses aimed at improving the overall mental health and wellbeing of members in our local community. The first course we are offering in July is focused on bereavement, loss and the experience of grief.

Bereavement and loss affects every part of our lives and in a variety of different ways and can have a significant effect on our health and wellbeing. Called the ‘Bereavement Journey,’ this course is for anybody who has been bereaved at any time and in any way.

The course will be run here at the Parish Trust and will be over the span of six weekly sessions. The course will cover topics like: attachment, separation and loss, difficult feelings, rites of passage, the impact and pain of bereavement, coping with others, coping with change, moving forward, an optional session on questions of Faith.

Our Wellbeing Coordinator, Luke Coleman, said,

This course will be an invaluable opportunity for individuals to reflect upon their own grief experiences, to openly and safely share it with others and gain tools to help them along in their unique experience of grief. I am excited  to be involved in this course and my hope is that it can benefit members of our community in a restorative and impactful way.
