The Parish Trust is looking for an experienced and compassionate Early Years Programme Manager to develop and oversee our support for babies, children aged 0–5 and their families.
The role will lead the development of our new early years programme, alongside responsibility for our Baby & Maternity Bank and related emergency family support. Plant will provide free activities focused on children’s physical development, communication, attachment, emotional wellbeing, play and social development.
Main responsibilities
- Develop and manage a programme of early years activities, including stay-and-play, sensory play, rhyme and story sessions, parent groups and family activities.
- Oversee the day-to-day running and development of the Baby & Maternity Bank.
- Manage referrals and ensure families receive appropriate practical and emergency support.
- Coordinate and support early years workers and volunteers.
- Build relationships with health visitors, midwives, social workers, schools and other local partners.
- Create clear pathways between emergency assistance and longer-term family support.
- Ensure all activities meet safeguarding, health and safety and quality standards.
- Gather feedback and monitor outcomes for children and parents.
- Manage programme resources, records and agreed budgets.
- Ensure families are treated with dignity, compassion and without judgement.
About you
You will have:
- Experience of working with babies, young children and families.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and the needs of children aged 0–5.
- Experience of developing or coordinating activities, services or projects.
- An understanding of poverty, isolation and the pressures facing families.
- Strong organisational, communication and partnership-working skills.
- Experience of supervising staff or volunteers.
- A good understanding of safeguarding children.
- A relevant early years, childcare, family support, health or social care qualification, or equivalent experience.
- A commitment to the Christian vision and values of The Parish Trust.
Experience of managing a Baby Bank, family support service or referral programme would be highly desirable.
