The Parish Trust offers prayers and thoughts for the family of Her Majesty the Queen at the news of her death.
In a statement on behalf of The Parish Trust, Rev. Dean Aaron Roberts, the Chair of Trustees said,
“For over 70 years, Her Majesty the Queen has tirelessly served the people of our country and commonwealth. She has indeed been a servant-Queen, following the example of the Lord in whom she placed her trust throughout her long life. As her family come to terms with their grief, we pray that they in particular will know the peace, comfort, and presence of the Lord whom the Queen loved and fashioned her life upon.”
A woman of incredible, sacrificial duty, Her Majesty the Queen has devoted her entire life to service, amongst them, recognising, promoting and celebrating the charitable sector. She is the longest reigning monarch in British history.
The Parish Trust joins with millions across the globe in mourning a great and tangible loss.
A prayer on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Father in heaven, we give thanks for all who have finished this life loving and trusting you, for the example of their lives, the grace you gave them, and the peace in which they rest.
We praise you today for your servant Elizabeth, our Queen, and for all that you did through her.
Meet us in our sadness, fill our hearts with praise and thanksgiving, and help us to share in the hope that our Queen found in you. Amen.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. ~ Psalm 34:18
