The Bryn Hall Renovation: Progress Update 1 – (3rd – 13th March 2025)

We are excited to share an update on the long-awaited renovation of The Bryn Hall! After months of planning and preparation, work officially commenced on Monday, 3rd March 2025. The first two weeks have been a hive of activity, setting the stage for the transformation of this historic building into a thriving community space.

Securing and Clearing the Site

The initial focus has been on securing the site and ensuring the safety of all involved. This included erecting fencing and setting up essential site infrastructure. The site is fully monitored and secured to ensure the protection of both workers and the surrounding community. Once secured, our teams turned their attention to clearing the site and stripping the building down to its core structure. This process has involved removing everything that is no longer viable and preparing the space for the major restoration work ahead.

The contractors have noted the positive feedback from members of the community as they have walked past, with many expressing how wonderful it is to see something finally happening with the site. It’s encouraging to know that this project is already making an impact, even in its early stages.

Exciting News: Funding Boost from Aviva Insurance Community Brokers Fund

We are thrilled to announce that this week, The Parish Trust has been awarded £5,000 from the Aviva Insurance Community Brokers Fund to support the renovation. This funding will go a long way in helping us breathe new life into The Bryn Hall, ensuring it can serve as a much-needed community hub for years to come. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Aviva for their generous support and to Thomas Carroll Insurance Brokers who put our name forward.

What’s Next?

With the initial strip-out phase nearly complete, the next stage will involve structural assessments, repairs, and preparing for the internal refurbishment. The upcoming key tasks on our renovation list include:

  • Laying concrete foundations
  • Installing internal drainage
  • Constructing substructure masonry and slab
  • Connecting the incoming electricity supply

As we progress, we will continue to share updates on key milestones and how the community can get involved.

We are incredibly grateful for all the support we’ve received so far. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!

Would you consider making a donation towards this exciting project? We still have a shortfall, and we’d really like to be able to fully complete the work by Summer 2025. Every donation will make a huge difference. Please click here for more information on how to donate.
