Kingsman Associates is a local Wills and Estate Planning company based in Risca.
Why should you make a Will?
A Will is a legal document in which you set out what you would like to happen to your estate when you die. There are some circumstances in which it is especially important to make a Will. These include: if you have children or other financial dependents; if you are not married but want your partner to inherit from your estate; or if you want to leave assets to anyone outside your immediate family.
If you have children under 18, you could appoint a guardian in your Will who would be responsible for looking after them in the case of your death. If you don’t appoint a guardian, the courts may decide who cares for your children.
If you do not make a Will, you will be considered to have died ‘intestate’. This means that your estate will be distributed under the laws of intestacy; a strict set of rules which set out which of your family members receive your assets and in which order. If you had no surviving relatives, your estate would go to the Crown.
To qualify for the free simple Will all we ask if you leave a small legacy to The Parish Trust in your Will or make a donation direct to them.
