CARE Project Assistant / Food Coordinator

In an exciting partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council “Caerphilly Cares” team, The Parish Trust is able to advertise a part time post to facilitate and assist the CARE Project to run smoothly and to contribute to the Borough’s strategy on food insecurity.

Role Purpose: To assist the CARE Project Lead in the running of the CARE Project, and to act as liaison between The Parish Trust and Caerphilly Cares Food Network.

Contract: Fixed Term for One Year.

Pay: £12 p/h

Hours: 8 per week

Responsible to: CARE Project Lead of The Parish Trust

Job Description

  1. Assisting in all aspects of the day to day running of The Parish Trust’s CARE Project
  2. Carrying out regular compliance checks to ensure the quality and safety of the service.
  3. Ensuring food safety/hygiene standards are in line with environmental health standards.
  4. Monitoring allergies forms and providing the staff team with accurate and up-to-date information to prevent any risk to customers.
  5. Assisting with Volunteer management, training, and induction
  6. Attend and feedback into Monthly Caerphilly Cares meetings and quarterly Caerphilly Food Network.
  7. Attend paid training opportunities

Person Specification

This role will suit someone who is a team player, can take initiative, and is passionate about social justice. You will need to be a hard worker, and willing to progress in your professional development. You will need to be able to drive / arrange transportation for the meetings and training events mentioned in the job description.
