Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance Person to join our team at The Parish Trust. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities, enabling us to better serve those in need within our community.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to upkeep the facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and heating systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
- Repair or replace broken fixtures, equipment, or furniture as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist with general carpentry, painting, and other maintenance tasks as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the premises where required
- Handle basic landscaping duties, including lawn care and outdoor maintenance.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report any significant issues to the management team.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with other staff members and volunteers to accomplish maintenance projects effectively.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in general maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and heating systems.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour tasks.
- Willingness to adhere to safety standards and procedures.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
