Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance Person to join our team at The Parish Trust. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities, enabling us to better serve those in need within our community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks to upkeep the facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and heating systems.
  2. Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
  3. Repair or replace broken fixtures, equipment, or furniture as required.
  4. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  5. Assist with general carpentry, painting, and other maintenance tasks as needed.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the premises where required
  7. Handle basic landscaping duties, including lawn care and outdoor maintenance.
  8. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report any significant issues to the management team.
  9. Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
  10. Collaborate with other staff members and volunteers to accomplish maintenance projects effectively.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in general maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  2. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and heating systems.
  3. Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour tasks.
  8. Willingness to adhere to safety standards and procedures.
  9. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  10. Commitment to the mission and values of The Parish Trust.

This role would suit someone who is looking for some additional income whilst helping a growing charity. It is not a role intended for someone to rely upon for their main income. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Therefore, please do not delay in applying.
