Hello from The Parish Trust!

Dear ,

We're writing to everyone connected to our charity to update you on some of the exciting things going on and how you can get involved. We try really hard not to spam people, so please don't expect us to be popping into you inboxes all the time. We only email when we feel there's something you need to know.

A lot has been going on through 2021, and The Parish Trust has launched some new projects which you may, or may not be aware of. This message just serves to highlight these to you as well as some other opportunities arising at the Charity...

Tommy's Tots

tommytotnewsletter
‌

Tommy's Tots is a new term-time baby and toddler group running at our HQ in Trethomas. We've already got lots of children registered with us along with their parents/carers but there's always room for more! We're delighted to be able to open up our facility to people who are looking a place to have fun, socialise, and learn together - whether that's big people or little people!

Community Shuttle Bus Launching

shuttlebustnewsletter
‌

The Parish Trust has been aware of concerns of local residents in the Caerphilly area related to lack of access to The Grange University Hospital. Thanks to some generous grant funding from the Aneurin Bevan Health Board and their partners, The Parish Trust will be launching a community shuttle bus to take people from Caerphilly, Bedwas, Trethomas, and Machen over to the Royal Gwent and Grange University Hospitals.

Community Garden Open

communitygardennewsletter
‌

We now have a Community Garden that is available during opening hours for the public to enjoy and garden in. Studies show that gardening is good for wellbeing. We've already had a number of people get involved with the garden. If you'd like to know more, please contact Aimee, our Community Worker.

In partnership with Menter Iaith Caerfili, The Parish Trust are now holding regular "Paned Prynhawn" sessions which are a chance to practise your Welsh (all levels of fluency welcome). They involve simply meeting up to have a go at speaking Welsh. Slipping into English is OK too! Find out when the next session is happening by looking at our calendar...

Volunteers Needed

volunteernewsletter
‌

We could not operate without a dedicated team of volunteers. As the country gets to its feet post-lockdown, there is still significant need in our area and we as a charity are trying to respond to those needs through our projects. Projects need volunteers, and so, would you consider volunteering with us? We have loads of roles available suitable for a regular shift, as-and-when shifts, and things to do for all ages. It's great on a CV, we offer a reference service, and you'll be making a positive difference to our world...

Are you able to give?

givenewsletter
‌

Not only do we need volunteers to help us run the charity, we also need the help of the general public in the giving of food and monetary donations. Without these two things, we cannot help the thousands of people we are able to reach each year. Donations of dry/packaged food can be dropped off in our porch at our HQ (St. Thomas' Church, Heol yr Ysgol, Trethomas, Caerphilly, CF83 8FL) between 9am and 5pm Monday - Friday. If you're able to donate some money to us, this can be done online on our website. Every donation counts as it goes towards paying our essential bills, and helps us successfully apply for grant funding as your donations demonstrate that you support the aims of the charity. We are extremely grateful for any donations we receive, and we are aware that not everyone is in a position to give - that's completely OK too.
