<p>We are looking for a motivated, passionate individual who cares about making a difference in the community. You will be a person who actively fights food poverty through leading one of The Parish Trust&#8217;s main activities: The CARE Project. Each year, the CARE Project feeds between 7,000 and 9,000 people, with access to the service being available to approximately 54,000 people in Caerphilly Borough.</p>



<p>The CARE Project also reduces food waste, reusing food or saving food from large suppliers, and putting it into food parcels or using it as part of our Bag a Bargain scheme. You will help to lead our volunteers and coordinate the CARE Project, ensuring it continues to run smoothly and that our service users get the help they need.</p>



<p><em>The CARE Project Lead is a key member of The Parish Trust Team. This is a demanding and fast paced role that is pivotal to supporting the delivery of the CARE Project. It would suit a person who catches the vision and ethos we hold to, is structured and organised in their approach, and has a passion for community support and social justice. In addition, they will be willing to work flexibly as required to get the job done. They will be confident to work both collaboratively and independently, and adaptable to a changing environment. This role has the opportunity to connect with all areas of the community. It is a face-to-face role on a daily basis.</em></p>

<p>Contract: 37.5 hours per week, permanent.</p>

<p><strong>Role Purpose</strong></p>



<p>To positively impact the lives of existing and potential Service Users of The Parish Trust and the community as a whole through running courses, clubs and events, early intervention schemes, pastoral engagement and practical support.</p>



<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>



<p><em><em>The Community Worker is a key member of The Parish Trust Team. This is a critical role that will ensure that the charity meets its aims and objectives. It would suit a person who catches the vision and ethos we hold to, has a heart for social justice and pastoral care, and has a warm and caring approach. In addition, they will be willing to work flexibly as required to get the job done and are well organised and efficient. They will be confident to work independently and adaptable to a changing environment. It is a face-to-face role on a daily basis.</em></em></p>



<p><strong>Contract and Pay</strong></p>



<p>Full time, permanent contract at 40 hours per week.</p>



<p>£20,800 p/a &#8211; £26,000 dependent upon experience.</p>



<p><strong>Location and Working Pattern</strong></p>



<p>The Parish Trust HQ, St. Thomas’ Church, Heol yr Ysgol, Trethomas, CF83 8FL.</p>

<p>DBS – An DBS check will be required for this role.</p>



<p>Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) – The post-holder will be a representative of The Parish Trust. The role of Community Worker will include work that is spiritual in nature. As such there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post holder is either a Christian, or sympathetic to the values and ethos of the Christian Faith and the vision of the Parish Trust.</p>
