The Acting Youth and Children’s Programme Manager will develop, implement, and manage a variety of programs aimed at supporting the growth and development of children and young people within the community. You will be a key person in the staff team of The Parish Trust and will assist in setting the strategic and operational direction of youth and children’s work within the charity.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Management:

• Design and deliver a comprehensive range of programs for children and young people, including educational workshops, recreational activities, and community service projects.
• Collaborate with other staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure programs are inclusive, diverse, and meet the needs of the community.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, making improvements based on feedback and best practices.

Leadership and Supervision:

• Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers and part-time staff to assist in the delivery of youth and children’s programs.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to volunteers, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

Community Engagement:

• Act as the primary point of contact for children, young people, parents, and guardians involved in the programs.
• Foster strong relationships with local schools, community groups, and other organisations to promote collaboration and support for the programs.

Administration and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and outcomes.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management, funders, and stakeholders.

Safeguarding and Compliance:

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

• Degree educated

The Parish Trust is seeking two motivated and committed Youth & Children’s Workers to join our growing team. While we currently run a Friday evening youth club, these roles go beyond delivering a single weekly session. The successful candidates will be self-starters who can identify need, develop projects, and engage children and young people in ways that support their wellbeing, confidence, and sense of belonging.

The Playgroup Leader will be responsible for the weekly running of Tommy’s Tots playgroup sessions, ensuring safe, stimulating play and to provide for the needs of the whole child. The successful candidate will have a passion for children and a commitment to fostering and encouraging the overall aims and objectives of The Parish Trust. The successful candidate will foster the Christian ethos of the charity in the playgroup, planning suitable themes for each session that both incorporate a Christian message and link in with child developmental milestones.

Hours: 4 p/w (Tuesdays 8:30-11:30am and one hour preparation to be taken at the successful candidate’s choice) at £12.60 p/h. Potential for hours to expand into other areas.

Main Responsibilities

• Setting up toys and activities, preparing the room.
• Ensuring health and safety, removing obstacles, and making the hall safe
• Setting up tea/coffee and refreshments for both adults and children
• Overall responsibility for registering and signing children in, and taking payment
• Fostering a welcoming, communal environment at each session
• Enlisting the help of volunteers and registering them with The Parish Trust
• Integrating a Christian based theme in each session, including songs, stories, and reflection time
• Promoting the group and the overall work of the charity.
• Tidying and Cleaning away after each session, making sure the whole building is in a suitable condition for next use
