<p>In an exciting partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council &#8220;Caerphilly Cares&#8221; team, The Parish Trust is able to advertise a part time post to facilitate and assist the CARE Project to run smoothly and to contribute to the Borough&#8217;s strategy on food insecurity.</p>



<p><strong>Role Purpose: </strong>To assist the CARE Project Lead in the running of the CARE Project, and to act as liaison between The Parish Trust and Caerphilly Cares Food Network.</p>



<p><strong>Contract: </strong>Fixed Term for One Year.</p>



<p><strong>Pay: </strong>£12 p/h</p>



<p><strong>Hours: </strong>8 per week</p>



<p><strong>Responsible to: </strong>CARE Project Lead of The Parish Trust</p>



<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>



<ol class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type:1">
<li>Assisting in all aspects of the day to day running of  The Parish Trust&#8217;s CARE Project</li>



<li>Carrying out regular compliance checks to ensure the quality and safety of the service.</li>



<li>Ensuring food safety/hygiene standards are in line with environmental health standards.</li>



<li>Monitoring allergies forms and providing the staff team with accurate and up-to-date information to prevent any risk to customers.</li>



<li>Assisting with Volunteer management, training, and induction</li>



<li>Attend and feedback into Monthly Caerphilly Cares meetings and quarterly Caerphilly Food Network.</li>



<li>Attend paid training opportunities</li>
</ol>



<p><strong>Person Specification</strong></p>



<p>This role will suit someone who is a team player, can take initiative, and is passionate about social justice. You will need to be a hard worker, and willing to progress in your professional development. You will need to be able to drive / arrange transportation for the meetings and training events mentioned in the job description.</p>

<p><strong>Role Purpose</strong></p>



<p>To positively impact the lives of existing and potential Service Users of The Parish Trust and the community as a whole through running courses, clubs and events, early intervention schemes, pastoral engagement and practical support.</p>



<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>



<p><em><em>The Community Worker is a key member of The Parish Trust Team. This is a critical role that will ensure that the charity meets its aims and objectives. It would suit a person who catches the vision and ethos we hold to, has a heart for social justice and pastoral care, and has a warm and caring approach. In addition, they will be willing to work flexibly as required to get the job done and are well organised and efficient. They will be confident to work independently and adaptable to a changing environment. It is a face-to-face role on a daily basis.</em></em></p>



<p><strong>Contract and Pay</strong></p>



<p>Full time, permanent contract at 40 hours per week.</p>



<p>£20,800 p/a &#8211; £26,000 dependent upon experience.</p>



<p><strong>Location and Working Pattern</strong></p>



<p>The Parish Trust HQ, St. Thomas’ Church, Heol yr Ysgol, Trethomas, CF83 8FL.</p>



<p>You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation.</p>



<p><strong>Other Details</strong></p>



<p>DBS – An DBS check will be required for this role.</p>



<p>Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) – The post-holder will be a representative of The Parish Trust. The role of Community Worker will include work that is spiritual in nature. As such there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post holder is either a Christian, or sympathetic to the values and ethos of the Christian Faith and the vision of the Parish Trust.</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Assisting in looking after the volunteer base and nurturing them through their time at the charity</li><li>Actively advertising to recruit more volunteers, setting them up and training them for the relevant roles</li><li>Scheduling volunteers</li><li>Dealing with any complaints or queries with the volunteers</li><li>Assisting with the practical day-to-day activities of volunteers and staff</li></ul>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>Providing a strategic input in the shaping of the services we offer</li><li>Identifying relevant Service Users and matching them with relevant in-house early intervention schemes</li><li>Setting up and carrying out community activities which will help tackle poverty and deprivation in all its forms within our service area</li><li>Setting up and carrying out a variety of community activities, groups, sessions and projects</li><li>Actively assisting in the reduction of food poverty in the charity’s service area</li></ul>
