Volunteering

Volunteering with us is a brilliant way to share your talents and spend your time...

It has been a fantastic learning experience for my little boy I feel it is important for him to learn from a young age how he is able to help others. And for him to also know there is help available if he ever needed it in the future. 

In a time when isolation is common and so many people are without work, it’s a good thing to keep me occupied whilst being able to help others at the same time.

I’ve been volunteering with The Parish Trust since the days when we’d get excited about doing 5 parcels a day and the team was much smaller. It has been such a joy to be part of and to see it grow into such an integral part of the community, building relationships with individuals and businesses. It quickly became something I treasured and loved, and I don’t see that changing any time soon!

It's a great way of getting to meet people who live in the local area. It's a great sense of achievement knowing that you're doing something good for your community. It's always a lovely place to work, even when we're busy and rushed off our feet!

Volunteering at the CARE Project is such a positive and fulfilling experience. Not only because we’re meeting the needs of people within our community but because we are building community and relationship with one another. From food collecting to making up food parcels and delivery there is a great sense of camaraderie amongst the volunteers and staff.

Tempo Time Credits

If you are eligible through the amount of volunteer hours you commit to the charity, we can give you “Time Credits.” These credits can add up to get you a selection of different benefits, like Netflix and Disney+ subscriptions, days out, meals out and even money on a PAYG phone!

Volunteering really stands out on a CV, and employers are likely to favour someone who has volunteering experience as it shows a variety of desirable qualities in a potential employee.

We often get our service users thanking us for all we do for them. Our delivery drivers and assistants especially know the impact our services have on the lives of those that we help. It’s wonderful to know that the work you do is helping those in need locally.

The Profectus Programme

What is The Profectus Programme?

Profectus is a Latin word and, amongst other things, it means success, achievement, and growth.

Our Profectus Programme is essentially an apprenticeship and training scheme, which provides a 12 month opportunity for someone to develop skills that will stand them in good stead for a future career.

We are particularly keen to introduce people to the charitable/third sector, so that The Parish Trust contributes to increasing the number of people giving their talents and abilities to effecting positive change in the world.
